News: October 15, 2012 Chariot Oil & Gas Picks Up Shallow-Water Blocks Offshore Morocco As It Continues To Diversify The Portfolio After the bitter blow of its two-duster drilling campaign offshore Namibia, the diversification effort is stepping up at Chariot Oil & Gas.  This week the AIM-quoted explorer, which has lost about 85 per cent of its value since it spudded its maiden well, Tapir South, in April, announced it had signed a deal to take on two offshore exploration licences in Morocco. News: October 15, 2012 Petroneft Resources Has Positive News Flow From Its Second Development In Russia Petroneft Resources share price has been eroded over a period of 18 months by the disappointing performance of its flagship project in Russia. It was once 30p and is now languishing at around 6.12p. The hope must be that now that there is positive news flow about the strategy adopted to offset the serial disappointments of the Lineynoye oilfield in Western Siberia, the share price might perk up a bit. Output at Lineynoye is now running below 2000 bopd, far short of earlier guidance. Full story... Market Overview: October 12, 2012 Geopolitical Concerns Help Keep Oil Prices High Employment prospects in the US looked a little healthier this week and that gave the market a boost with signs of optimism for stronger demand and the economic recovery. Geopolitical concerns also kept the price high and in early trading on Friday, Brent crude was above US$115 with WTI trading just over US$92 a barrel. Full story... News: October 11, 2012 Silvermere Energy Gushes Higher After Meridian Petroleum’s Former Boss Reveals Mustang Island Well Is Oil-Charged Shares in Silvermere Energy, which have been under pressure this year due to delays in delivering first gas from its I-1 well in the Gulf of Mexico, surged on Tuesday after it was suggested this may not be a gas well after all, but an oil well. Shares in the company jumped more than 26 per cent  on the news and edged higher again on Wednesday to just north of 14 pence in afternoon trading. Full story...
