The latest companies to join the JIP are Italian energy giant ENI and equipment manufacturer Oil States International, who have now added their support to a project that has already got Shell, Tullow, Maersk and Wintershall, among others, on board. In February there was much jubilation when its long-stalled Rivara gas storage project in Italy finally got the environmental clearance to move into the appraisal stage.
