Prices for Natural Gas Go Higher as Stockpiles Shrink Posted: 11 Apr 2013 07:08 PM PDT Natural gas gained today on shrinking supplies. The Energy Information Administration reported that gas inventories fell 14 billion cubic feet to 1.673 trillion last week. Specialists have predicted a decline by 13 billion. Stockpiles were 3.8 percent below the five-year average, compared with 2.1 percent in the preceding week. Usually, the current part of the year is not very good for natural gas. Gold Halts Its Short-Lived Rally Posted: 11 Apr 2013 05:33 PM PDT Gold fell today after rallying yesterday. The rally was caused by the weakness of the US dollar. The greenback fell 0.6 percent against the basket of six major currencies. The minutes of the last Federal Reserve meeting did not help the currency even as they showed that some policy makers favor reduction of quantitative easing. Previously, gold fell on reports that Cyprus is going to sell bullion as a way to reduce its debt. [...] |
