The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) announces the following:
A new user's guide for the Regional Input-Output Modeling System (RIMS II) has been posted on the BEA website.
This new guide, written for a wide audience, is a must-read for anyone who conducts or reviews economic impact studies. Its many useful features include:
- Almost a dozen case studies illustrating important concepts and applications of RIMS II multipliers
- Step-by-step instructions for many different applications
- Techniques and suggestions to overcome limitations related to missing information when using RIMS II multipliers
- A glossary that explains technical terms clearly and concisely
The new guide, called "RIMS II: An Essential Tool for Regional Developers and Planners" can be downloaded from the RIMS II Web site at www.bea.gov/regional/rims.
