Latest News News: January 03, 2013 Oando Energy’s ‘Transformational’ Deal With ConocoPhillips To Supercharge Production Africa-focused Oando Energy Resources, which is listed on Canada’s Toronto Stock Exchange, is moving into the big leagues with a US$1.8 billion deal that will send it’s oil and gas production soaring.The Calgary-headquartered company announced plans at the end of December to take on the Nigerian business of US super-major ConocoPhillips, in a deal that will catapult its production to around 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). News: January 02, 2013 Enegi Oil Eyes Opportunities In Jordan As It Restructures To Deliver New Portfolio Strategy When we last spoke to Enegi Oil in November, it was clear the company was determined to continue with its strategy to diversify the portfolio, which until last year was purely focused on  a challenging oilfield development in Newfoundland. Since then, the AIM-quoted company has added acreage onshore Ireland, which is thought to be prospective for shale gas, as well as two North Sea blocks, where it plans to deploy innovative buoy technology to develop marginal oil discoveries.Now Enegi has made perhaps its boldest diversification yet by making its debut in the Middle East.  It has joined forces with Korea Global Energy Corporation, which is in advanced discussions with the Jordanian authorities to sign a PSC for the Dead Sea/ WadiAraba Block.  Under the agreement with KGEC, Enegi would be issued a five per cent interest in the block in return for providing technical and operational expertise. KGEC hopes to finalise the PSC talks and approvals in early 2013. Full story... Market Overview: December 28, 2012 Review of oil market in 2012:Brent Crude Holds Up At Comfortably Over US$100 A Barrel Throughtout The Year Despite Many Uncertainties The oil price is expected to average around US$112 for the year. In the first week of trading in 2012 Brent crude was priced above US$112 with WTI trailing behind around US$101 a barrel. As we approach the end of the year, Brent is trading around US$110 with WTI above US$90 a barrel. Not bad for a year filled with uncertainty in what OPEC President Abdul-Kareem Luaibi Bahedh, Minister of Oil of Iraq said lacked “clear vision on the economic front.” Full story... Market Overview: December 21, 2012 US Government Indecision On the Fiscal Cliff Conumdrum Impacts Negatively On Oil Prices As US government indecision created frustration among consumers, traders and investors, the oil prices took a hit to the downside, loosing the most in over two weeks. They recovered again but not entirely and in early trading on Friday, Brent crude was priced above US$109 with WTI holding around US$89 a barrel.  Full story... News: December 20, 2012 PetroNeft Resources Has Fourth Successful Production Well On Its Arbuzovskoye Field In Siberia Three weeks after AIM-listed PetroNeft Resources announced a third successful well on its Arbuzovskoye field in Siberia, it has said that the Arbuzovskoye well 111 has completed and been put into production; thus giving it fourth consecutive triumph.
