AIM Newcomer Lekoil Raises US$20 Million For Ogo-1 Sidetrack But Needs Another US$30 Million To Close Aje Dea

Lekoil has wasted no time since its May IPO, which raised US$49 million, the largest listing on AIM this year.  In just a matter of months, the AIM newcomer has inked a sales and purchase agreement for a stake in the Aje development offshore Nigeria, participated in a promising oil strike along the West African Transform Margin and this week announced a US$20 million equity raise to fund the drilling and testing of a sidetrack to the discovery

Northcote Energy Sets Up New Partnership Arrangements To Develop Its Mississippi Lime Projects In Oklahoma

The latest twist in the saga of London AIM quoted Northcote Energy as it seeks to develop onshore oil and gas assets in the US is that the company has established a partnership vehicle for US investors to invest alongside Northcote, providing it with a non-dilutive source of capital to de-risk and rapidly advance the development of its properties, particularly in the Mississippi Lime in Oklahoma. These include existing production and a number of development opportunities.

Momentum Continues To Build Offshore Ireland As Kosmos And Europa Oil & Gas Get A Head Start On 3D Seismic

Kosmos Energy has a reputation for setting a blistering pace when it comes to working up its acreage.  The NYSE-quoted explorer, which made its fortune through the Jubilee discovery offshore Ghana, is wasting no time seeking out a Jubilee look-alike in Morocco, where it is partnered with AIM-quoted Fastnet Oil & Gas.  Kosmos' entry in the Foum Assaka licence in the Agadir Basin has put real firepower behind the Fastnet exploration campaign, where new 3D seismic has identified a raft of leads and prospects and the first well is due to spud in Q4. Neon Energy Names Dates For The Spudding Of Its Potentially Company Making Wells Offshore Vietnam

The first half of the year was difficult for ASX-quoted Neon Energy, which has heavy oil operations in California and exploration acreage offshore Vietnam.  Despite mounting excitement about the prospectivity of its Vietnamese assets, the stock plummeted from A30 cents in February to a low of A18 cents in late May as its Californian projects ran into difficulties, with a challenging testing programme at the  Paloma Deep discovery and water/steam handling issues at the North San Ardo heavy oilfield

Antrim Energy Joins Forces With Enegi Oil To Revive Fyne Field Development

Back in March Canada's Antrim Energy saw its shares lose two-thirds of their value after it shelved the development of the Fyne field in the North Sea, a project that only months earlier the CEO had described as robust. The project was due to be developed using the Hummingbird Spirit FPSO but escalating costs saw Antrim decide to pull the plug; it had already been stung with cost overruns on the non-operated Causeway development and had only a month earlier opted to withdraw from the Fionn field development, due to higher than anticipated projected costs.

Poweralternatives: Never Mind The Shale: IGas Sees Revenues Jump 200 Per Cent In The Wake Of Star Energy And Singleton Purchases

As its preliminary results demonstrate, IGas Energy is a completely different beast from a year ago. For starters, it's no longer correct to talk about IGas as a coal bed methane company – although it still has CBM operations – because following the 2011 Star Energy deal and the more recent US$66 million acquisition of the Singleton oilfield, this is now a classic E&P company, with proven reserves of almost 8 million barrels of oil equivalent, production of almost 2,400 barrels per day and a “chase the barrels” strategy to build on that tally.  The other big change is on the gas side of the business, where the AIM-quoted company's CBM operation

End Of An Era As Northern Petroleum Says Goodbye To Musgrove And Latham

The London-based company, which presented the changes as part of a planned succession programme, has promoted COO Keith Bush to MD and is seeking a new non-executive chairman. Shares in the company gained 10 per cent on the news.
